 Due to an affair, our marriage was hanging on by a thread. Our divorce papers had been filed and we had already agreed on a property settlement. Your Intensive was a last ditch effort! Today our marriage is thriving! Our needs were met and exceeded!
"When two or more gather together in His name" He was there with us. If prospective participants think they know what they are in for, they are wrong. If they seek "the truth", they will find it. If your marriage can be healed, it will begin at NIM!
My Marriage Intensive changed my life and my view of my responsibility for myself and my relationships. I had read the book and loved the concepts; however it took me being in an Intensive for me to face my core fears. I took the test three times but I needed the hot seat Bob Paul and Tricia put me on to really face my core issues. I am so thankful for the experience and would love to bring these tools to my church and community.
We believe we were directed by God to NIM so that we could learn healthier ways to communicate in our marriage. We feel very blessed by our time spent at NIM. Thank you!
The group dynamic surprised me the most. You felt like team members praying and pulling for each other.
God has used the staff of the National Institute of Marriage to minister to our hearts and spirits. We have learned how to better love God, ourselves and each other. They are a gifted, loving and talented group of individuals with a passion to see lives changed, hearts healed and people set free. "Save our Marriage"
We had tried almost everything to save our marriage that was dying. We both wanted to make it work but everything we tried failed. This process has changed our relationship and our love and commitment for each other and our marriage. I would personally recommend this for couples who want to save their relationship.
The Marriage Intensive my husband and I attended was the best thing for our marriage that we've participated in. We have both been divorced and had a lot of issues that we fought and battled over in the 4 years since we've been married. Other seminars and counseling had had little value. The Marriage Intensive taught us both so much about ourselves and gave us tools to work with. The facilitators were the most unconditionally loving people I've ever met. My concerns about how it would help us to have 4 other couples as part of our Intensive vanished quickly during the first day. We found common areas of struggles within all of us and the interaction of all the couples was such a blessing as we worked through our struggles together. By the time we all said goodbye, we felt like we were leaving family members. It has been so helpful to me to learn that I didn't have to take on my husband's issues and make them mine. We still have our battles but they are shorter now and we're enjoying longer and longer periods of genuinely happy times when we love to be with each other and share out lives with each other. I believe we'll make it together now and we'll grow old (older) with each other.
We can't express in words how much the Marriage Intensive benefited us. Everyone should do it.

We thought our counselors (Chris and John) were very compassionate and insightful. While it was hard to share our story with the group, it was extremely helpful to get their feedback. We benefited far more by sharing our stories than by being one on one with a counselor. It took a lot of courage, but in the end, we felt even more validated for having shared in a group. [NIM] is on the right track! When I talk about [NIM] to a friend, I tell them that the Holy Spirit was all over the place; with the counselors, in our meeting room, in our bedrooms.
Saving our Marriage
The Marriage Intensive counseling was a critical part in saving our marriage. We continue to use what we learned and it has made an incredible difference in our relationship with each other. Our marriage is the strongest it has ever been.
 After 47 years of marriage, we were experiencing some insurmountable problems. After attending a group Intensive, with the help of two wonderful counselors, the good Lord and our commitment to one another, this has been "the best year" in quite a few years. And yes, we do have a spark in our marriage. Thank you so much.
Participating in a NIM Intensive was a very rewarding experience for my marriage and my well being as a person. I came away with a better understanding of my spouse, others and most importantly, myself. The one factor of the Intensive that caused the most anxiety before we attended was the group setting. This ended up being the aspect I enjoyed the most. We have continued to keep in touch with the couples we attended the Intensive with. Their continued support and encouragement is invaluable.
