Dr. Robert Paul, LPC Co-President
Dr. Robert (Bob) Paul is the Co-President of the National Institute of Marriage and is the Director, primary innovator, and creator of their highly acclaimed Intensive Programs. His programs are having remarkable success helping couples, including those in extreme crisis, achieve successful and deeply satisfying marriages.
Bob received his Bachelor’s Degree from Evangel University, his Master’s Degree from Georgia State University, and a Diploma in Christian Counseling and an honorary doctorate from Psychological Studies Institute. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. Bob is an accomplished speaker who has spoken at professional conferences and numerous events. He is a regular guest on numerous radio and television programs and has co-authored two books, The DNA of Relationships , with Drs. Gary and Greg Smalley, The DNA of Relationships for Couples, written again with Dr. Greg Smalley. His latest book, Finding Ever After, was released in August.
He is a former professor at Evangel University where he taught in both the Biblical Studies and Psychology departments, specializing in Marriage and Family Counseling, Human Sexuality, and the integration of faith into all areas of life. Bob and his wife, Jenni, live in Branson, Missouri, have been married for over 27 years, and have four children, Chris, Jessica, Rebecca and Nathan.
Kris Pace Pastor
For the past 23 years of his life, Kris has been involved in ministry through national and international speaking. This speaking has included topics such as Missions, Relationships, and Church Transformations. He and his family also spent several years as missionaries in Tanzania, East Africa. Currently he serves as the Lead Pastor and Co-Founder of The River located in Southwest Missouri.
Kris is passionate about communicating truth in a fresh and relevant way. The excitement he brings as a communicator is based in his belief that God made us to experience rich, vibrant relationships. His heart breaks when he meets people who are hurting and he has committed his life to sharing the hope that only God can give. Kris and his wife Leslye, have been married for 23 years. They have two sons, Kyle and Drew, and one daughter, Claire. Their home is in Branson, Missouri.

Ted Cunningham Pastor
For the past 10 years, Ted has served in the local church. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Woodland Hills Community Church in Branson, Missouri. Ted is a graduate of Liberty University and Dallas Theological Seminary.
Speaking on colleges campuses, at marriage retreats and conferences, Ted is passionate about equipping couples. He serves as writer and speaker for Gary Smalley and the Smalley Relationship Center. He has worked with Gary on The DNA of Relationships, The Relationship With God You’ve Always Dreamed Of, Food and Love, and the latest work by Gary called I Promise, which is a partnership with Purpose Driven Ministries. Ted and his wife, Amy, have a daughter, Corynn, and a son, Carson. They call Branson, Missouri home.
Mark Pyatt Co-President
Mark has been involved in this ministry since it's inception in November of 2003. He was the Chief Operations Officer for the Smalley Relationship Center and worked along with Bob Paul and Greg Smalley in the launching of the Smalley Marriage Institute, now known as the National Institute of Marriage. His primary responsibilities at the National Institute of Marriage includes; Operations, Finance, and Donor Development.
Mark attended Northwest Missouri State University and graduated from Christ for the Nations Institute, in Dallas, TX. He developed his financial and operations skills through a 16-year career in hospitality that included seven years at the distinguished Anatole Hotel in Dallas, TX and over nine years at Bass Pro Shop's, Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, Missouri. Answering God's call to join this ministry team was an answer to Mark's prayer to use his gifts for eternal purposes, he is blessed to be in a ministry that is making such a dramatic difference in the lives of couples.
Mark and his wife, Angie, have been married for over 16 years, and live in Branson with their daughter Nicole and son, Andrew.
Christine Arnzen, MA., LPC Director of Training and Professional Development
Chris Arnzen is a graduate of Evangel University and earned a Master's degree in clinical psychology from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. She is Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Missouri and is an active member of the Community Crisis Team of the Ozarks.
Chris is a Certified Lead Therapist for the National Institute of Marriage and is in charge of all internal staff management and training. She has 17 years of counseling experience working with individuals, couples, and groups. Prior to joining SMI, she served as the Director of Counseling Services as well as an adjunct faculty member of the Behavioral Sciences Department at Evangel University.
Chris and her husband Jim are parents to three beautiful daughters and are active members of their home church. Through 12 years of small group leadership, they have been devoted to mentoring young couples. It has been Chris' life goal to work with couples in crisis. Chris feels honored that the Lord has allowed her to be a part of NIM at such a crucial time in the history of marriage.
Tricia Cunningham, MA, LPC Director of Support Resources
Tricia Cunningham earned her masters degree in Counseling from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO.
Ms. Cunningham is a licensed professional counselor and is a Certified Lead Therapist and trainer for the National Institute of Marriage. She is also the Director of Support Resources and is in charge of managing all follow-up services. She remains involved with her husband in a ministry at her home church in Springfield, MO. She is very passionate about her work and participation in the restoration of broken hearts and marriages, and feels incredibly blessed to be involved in what God is doing at National Institute of Marriage.
Tricia, and her husband Craig have 3 beautiful children; Alexis, Cameron, and Carter.
Dr. Shawn Stoever Speaker/Certified Intensive Lead Therapist
Shawn received his doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas where he specialized in marriage and family therapy. He has served as the Director of Training for the Smalley Relationship Center where his duties included training marriage leaders and counseling couples around the country. He currently serves as Director of Programming for Winshape Marriage Retreat Center.
Shawn is passionate about his relationship with God and eager to share how you can experience fulfillment and joy in marriage and in life. He conducts retreats, speaks at conferences, leads Couples Intensive Programs, and appears on television and radio broadcasts. Shawn combines humor, enthusiasm, wisdom, and a desire to connect with his audience in all of his speaking engagements.
Shawn and his wife Christina have two wonderful children and live in Rome, Georgia at the Winshape Retreat Center.
Nathan Phillips, LPC Certified Intensive Lead Therapist/Speaker
Nathan is a graduate of Samford University and earned his master's degree in community counseling from Georgia State University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the CEO of Battlefield Ministries, Inc., a ministry that focuses on Christian couples and families. He has over 20 years of experience in counseling and is an accomplished speaker and facilitator. He and his wife, Jane, counsel together and also lead marriage retreats nationally and internationally. Nathan and Jane were married in 1982 and live in Rome, Georgia with their two sons, Isaac and Andy.
