    Intensive Scholarships

Turning couples away for lack of scholarship dollars is one of the toughest challenges we have at NIM.  The great news is that thanks to many of you, in 2007 over $136,000 in scholarships were given to families in need. We need to grow this amount to more than $300,000 in 2008.

Each week we have 75-100 couples inquire about the Intensive Programs. Of these couples, approximately 10% will register for an intensive. Of those that do not register, 50% indicate that the cost of the Intensive was the determining factor. We estimate that 20-30 couples a week have a genuine interest in registering for an Intensive and are legitimately unable to pay for the cost of an Intensive.

How do we disperse Intensive Scholarships?

First we determine if a couple qualifies for a scholarship based on annual income and the number of household dependents. For those that qualify we allocate scholarship funds based on a first come first serve basis.

How can you give?

Any way you feel the Lord leads you to give. Here are a couple of common ways that our partners have provided scholarships to hurting couples:

1. Scholarship a Couple. Partners have provided a predetermined number of full or partial scholarships each year, quarter or month

2. Give to the Scholarship Fund. We have also Partners give to a General Scholarship Fund. Some have given sums of money to be dispersed evenly each month of the year, other have given in amounts of $25 per month or more.
