NIM Ministry, Products and Services
|
Through the Intensives, our team members accomplish three very important goals: restoring couples, remaining connected to God's desire and ability to transform marriages, and, to continue learning, applying, and teaching the life-changing concepts that result in successful marriages. We accomplish these goals in three ways.
Direct ministry to couples. We have developed a continuum of care that meets couples wherever they may be in their relationship. Regardless of the health of their marriage we have a service that can help them improve their marital satisfaction. Our services include:
Christian Marriage Counseling - We continue to see a dramatic impact in the marriages of couples through our Intensive Marriage Counseling Programs.
Marriage Conferences - We currently present the 'DNA of Relationships for Couples ' conference to couples across the nation.
Resources for Couples - We have marriage curriculum for couples, small groups, military couples, counselors and therapists.
Enrich and Equip Leaders. It is our goal to enrich and equip ministry leaders that are working with couples. We provide what we are learning in our Intensive Programs to Pastoral Leadership, Professional Counselors, Military Chaplains and Lay-Leaders across the nation.
First Response Ministry. Resources to help churches develop a lay-based first response ministry for couples in crisis.
NIM Network. We provide a network of leadership that has been certified in the life changing principles found in our Intensive Programs. This network provides resources for certified ministry leaders, such as; coaching by NIM team members, ongoing training, and a referral option for couples on the brink of divorce.
We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testament are verbally and completely inerrant in the original writings, and of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and deed.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are redeemed and justified on the ground of His shed blood.
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven and His present life for us as High Priest and Advocate.
We believe in “that Blessed Hope”, the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost along with Satan and the other fallen angels.
We believe that the Church is a spiritual organism made up of all believers in Christ; that in its local manifestation it is an autonomous assembly of believers; and that its ordinances are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

National Institute of Marriage

NIM was originally founded by Dr. Greg Smalley as the Smalley Marriage Institute a 501(c)3 nonprofit ministry. The original team previously worked at the Smalley Relationship Center where, led by Dr. Robert S. Paul, they developed the Christian Marriage Counseling programs we call Intensives. Today the Intensive program is the cornerstone of all products and services offered at NIM.
At NIM we provide Marriage Counseling, Marriage Conferences, Pastoral Training, books, articles and various other marriage resources.
Our team of marriage counselors consists of Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Professional Counselors. They have a wide variety of training and experience but are all dedicated to one single passion, saving marriages and making an eternal difference in the lives of people through our highly acclaimed Intensive marriage counseling programs.
